Yard waste bags stickers and cartThrough the Compost It! program, residents in participating communities can conveniently dispose of yard and garden waste at the curb. Residents who live in communities that do not participate in the Compost It! program can call their garbage hauler for collection options or self-haul to the landfill.

Yard Waste Collection Options

Residents have a few different options for disposal through the Compost It! program.

Option 1: Bags and Stickers
Yard waste can be placed in Compost it! bags or store-brand bags with a green Compost It! sticker attached. Bags or bundles may not exceed 40 pounds.

Bags and stickers are sold online as well as at many retailers throughout the metro.

Option 2: Cart Service
Enjoy the convenience of wheeling yard waste to the curb each week during the collection season. For an annual collection subscription, residents can utilize a 96-gallon cart for yard waste.

Wondering if a cart is right for you? A cart might be for you if you purchase more than 65 bags per year, or if you garden, bag grass clippings, have a lot of trees, or don't want to hassle with bags. The 96-gallon cart can hold equivalent to three yard waste bags.
